Great podcast! It almost seems that your podcast is still going through some changes, but sounds great. The website is pretty good, too.

    Hey guys!

Just wanted to say that I loved your discussion about information visualization and how design fits into this big picture of human society (documenting human experience, etc.); I find it much more fascinating than when you get into design/typeface minutiae... but that's just me. ;) I definitely feel that there needs to be more pondering on the ethics and ramifications of what we do and you did start touching on that with the "person designing for another culture" bit and designers taking what they do seriously.

Also, your self-indulgent part really got me thinking about how you two have been doing this for over 3 months now, and what started as a "this is for fun, don't really know how often we'll update this" turned into a popular, thought provoking, weekly podcast that's pretty freaking awesome. Like you said, it might've not even lasted a week, and here you are! I'm proud of you guys and you definitely deserve a bit of self-indulgence (just don't let it go to your heads ;) ).

Additionally, it's amusing sometimes to see how some of your examples/scenarios come from what we do in class. It's like "Gee, I wonder where they got that from..." :P

Anyway, all this to basically say: good job!

P.S.: My roommate thinks you two sound professional have very good voices for radio.

I been waiting for this episode. Really great stuff. You guys are lucky to have an information design class at your school, I wish we had something like that. Thanks for the shout out guys, take it easy.

Hope you are enjoying your summer. The break you have taken has allowed me to get caught up on your fine podcasts. Only #21 left.

While re-listening to this one today I started thinking about your Subway Map comments. When I went to Prague in the Czech Republic earlier in the decade one of the things I remembered is that I really enjoyed the subway map they used:

One of the things on it that could be considered superfluous were the icons of the town landmarks on the map. I found these both beautiful to look at and a good way to give information on the specific stops to the rider (especially a rider that did not speak or read Czech and was not totally familiar with the town).

I liked this map a lot and keep in mind that this was years before I had any design knowledge, schooling or aspirations.
